I don't have doors on my fireplace. I could feel the heat of hot summer days coming from the fireplace. This fit my opening perfect. Only gave 4 stars because I wish it had more magnets. It's very heavy duty which is nice but to get a better seal around the opening more magnets would have made this perfect. Look forward to saving money this winter too keeping my heat in lol. Will be great for all seasons when fireplace is not in useI'd had a blanket over our fireplace for the last year lol and it looked so cheap and ridiculous. I finally found this fireplace blanket in stock and ordered it inmediately! Straight out of the bag, I just attached it to my fireplace and it looks significantly better! My husband walked in and said "oh that looks nice." Now I can enjoy my décor without looking at an ugly blanket stuffed over the fireplace!First of all, I am surprised that this product exists! I was planning to make a cover myself, but realized after finding this "blanket," what I would have to spend on materials and my time, this is well worth it.We are facing 100+ degree temps right now in Texas, and wanting to minimize AC loss. This blanket is fire retardent, fits the standard fire box opening perfectly. The magnets ARE an issue, but after cleaning the soot away, they stay much better. I also added clear mounting tape at the top edge, and this has completely secured the blanket.Well worth the money.Exactly as described, sturdy, durable and magnets are strong to hold in place. Size fits true and perfect for keeping drafts out. Hope to save money with this in place as we are losing a lot of cool air out the open chimney.It’s pretty pricey, the smallest one was 60 something. I thought it was a thick rubber but is like a slick but thick material. It’s difficult to get straight or completely flat. I had a metal fireplace so it could stick on there without the extra magnets. Over all, it’s kinda unattractive for the price but it’s better than the clear wrapping paper I had over the fireplace that would rattle and crinkle anytime a breeze would come through the chimney. It’s nice to not hear that noise but this is obviously a 20-30$ item and they are selling it for 60. Do what you want with this informationWe have a decorative 3 fold screen wanted this to block the air both in winter and summer of the fireplace opening.The quality of the cover material is good, but the magnet system it uses needs a lot of improvement. The cover can easily fall down with the lightest touch, such as from a cat. It seems to me stronger and larger magnets need to be used. I'm also concerned the strong glue I had to use to get the magnet plates to stick on the tile will leave marks or ruin the tile if I ever have to remove them.The magnets make it very easy to install and uninstall. The magnets are not continuous along the edge so the blanket can be folded when not in use.I am very happy with the blanket. It seems remiss of the supplier however to not provide magnets that can support it's weight. We have had to find alternat solutions to fix the blanket to our fireplace.
